“Celebrating God’s Design for Women”

Moms’ Council at Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church warmly invites you to join in its twentieth year of celebrating God’s design for women. It will be a year of self-discovery and soul searching, laughter and tears, joyful anticipation and waiting patiently, friendship and fellowship in what has become a tradition that we count on year after year.

We are excited to announce that Lisa Lewis will return as our keynote speaker this fall. The theme will be Modeling Mary: “Blessed Virgin,” “Chosen Daughter,” “Mother of Christ.” But really who was Mary? Why was she chosen? What made her special? And most importantly, what can we learn from this woman who modeled virtue and beauty in the way God intended? Mary reveals much to us about herself in a single prayer, The Magnificat, which in Latin means magnifies. Also called the Canticle of Mary, this is Mary’s joyous song in response to a visit with her cousin Elizabeth when they are both found to be with child (Luke 1:46-55). By dissecting Mary’s prayer, Lisa will show us how we can live a life not so unlike the mother of the Son of God. After our fabulous Christmas Brunch & Boutique, we will spend the New Year looking at Proverbs 31: becoming a woman of grace, joy, courage, integrity, peace, patience, compassion, faithfulness, worship, and love.

Throughout the year, we have many surprises planned to celebrate our twentieth year and we invite your ideas as well. Whether this will be your Year One, you’ve long stopped counting the years, or you’d simply like to reconnect with us as we mark this milestone, we welcome you with a Thursday morning hug and a warm cup of coffee…as we celebrate God’s perfect design that is Y-O-U!
