Membership & Baptism

Is membership the next step for you?

To be a church member is to make a public promise to live as a follower of Jesus Christ and support the work of His Church. Church membership is not like membership in a club or other organization. Most organizations exist to serve their members. Instead, church membership helps those who desire to follow Jesus move from consuming church services and programs to becoming providers of God’s love and care. As a church, we exist not for own benefit but for others.

As a new member candidate, you’ll learn more about who we are as a church, how to grow in faith and the many life-giving ways you can get involved with our church family.

More on Membership

Adult baptism

Those who have never been baptized and would like to be will need to become a church member. Baptism welcomes you into God’s family and our church family.

Infant, child and student baptism

MVPC will baptize infants of church members. Contact Valerie Bigelow for upcoming infant baptism dates and to register your infant for baptism.

Elementary-age children

MVPC will baptize members’ children who have come to personal faith in Jesus Christ. Our Children’s Ministries conducts children’s baptism classes with interested families. Contact Elizabeth Wolfe for information.

For students who have come to personal faith in Jesus Christ, MVPC will baptize them during the annual confirmation process each winter. Students interested in confirmation should contact Tommy Branagh for information and dates.
