What?

Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide quality Christian care to people facing a variety of challenging situations, such as the loss of a loved one, family problems, divorce, terminal illness, loneliness, moving, unemployment and job problems, hospitalization, the birth of a child, and any other situation in which personal support is needed. No problem is too small.

Who?

Stephen Ministers are MVPC members who are gifted and trained to give personalized, confidential, distinctly Christian support and are assigned one-to-one to adults in the church family who ask for help.

Why?

The name “Stephen” comes from the first lay person commissioned by Christ’s Apostles to provide caring ministry to those in need (Acts 6). In Stephen Ministry we believe that God is the cure-giver while we are the care-givers.

We invite you to ask for help, or how you might encourage a friend to contact us, or to call if you have questions. You may fill out the Prayer and Care Requests card in the pews or call us.
