Moms’ Kids Program

MVPC Moms’ Kids: 6 months – Pre-Kindergarten

Thursdays, 9:30 – 11:30 am

Moms’ Kids is a program provided for children of Moms’ Council members.  Per state licensing, our children’s program is a co-op.  As such, we are required to ask each mom to rotate through once per year for one hour and view it as an act of service to those with younger children.  If you have a physical limitation in doing so, please contact Alyson Tonomura.  Registration for Moms’ Kids is included on the registration form for Moms’ Council.  Sign up here.

Moms’ Kids is located in the Nursery and Preschool classroom area on our main campus, directly across the courtyard from the Sanctuary.  See our campus map.

Age Groups

Babies 6 months to 12 months old will be cared for in the infant section of the Nursery. Before an infant can visit the program, we suggest that the first series of inoculations be completed.

Toddlers 13 months to 24 months will be cared for in the toddler section of the Nursery. If a child turns 2 years old during Session I, they may be promoted to the Two’s group at the next session if space is available.  Two’s must be age 2 by Sept. 1.

Two’s thru Pre-K are in Room 105.

Check-In Procedures

Check in begins at 9:20 am. Caregivers/volunteers will be there to greet you and your child.  As safety and security are our top priorities, your child must have a current registration form on file before he/she can participate in the program.  Each week you will sign your child into his/her class and place a name tag on the child and also on his/her belongings. Please leave your cell phone number on the check-in sheet so we may text you if your child needs your assistance.

Check-Out Procedures

Pick up is at 11:35 am, immediately after Moms’ Council ends. Moms must return to the child’s classroom for check-out.  A sign-out sheet will be there for you to initial before taking your child from class.

When do we send you a text?

While our caregivers will do everything possible to make your child feel comfortable, we recognize that sometimes a child feels restless and may need his/her mom before the program is over. We will text you if the need arises during the morning.  Nursing moms, please remember to have your cell phone handy.

Snacks are provided to children during their time in Moms’ Kids. Snacks are age-specific and may include: Cheerios, graham crackers, Goldfish or Ritz crackers or popcorn. There may be occasional special treats at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day or Easter. If your child has special dietary needs, please bring a snack for them and alert the staff of his/her age group. Water is served for a drink.

What to Bring

  1. Two disposable diapers (no cloth please).
  2. A bottle of breast milk/formula (we have a refrigerator).
  3. A comfort item for your infant.
  4. A pacifier, if they use one.
  5. A change of clothing for untimely accidents.
  6. A sweater or jacket for outside play (toddlers and older only).

Your Child’s Health

We operate a well-baby/child program. If your child has signs of illness such as a runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, cough or diarrhea, we ask that you do not place your child in the program that day.
