Mount Hermon: Grades 2 thru 12

MtHermonMount Hermon is a Christian Conference Center and Camp Facility in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  It hosts many different summer camps, but there are four in particular that members of our congregation have been flocking to for decades.   Ask the Roberts or Sonnenschein families for more information.

Ponderosa: Junior High (entering Grades 7-8)

Even though you have to wait until you’re entering 7th grade to move up to the big time over at the resort at Pondy, take the “leap of faith” and just do it!!  Did someone say, “Let’s go surfing?!”  In one week at Ponderosa, students will encounter the God who knows them, who loves them and who wants to change their lives for eternity.

Ponderosa: High School (entering Grades 9-12)
The theme at camp this summer is: Mutation.  The world is constantly changing before your eyes. You are growing, changing, adapting. You will undergo a transformation of some kind. The choice is yours, what will you let transform you. So the question remains, this summer at Ponderosa Lodge: Who are you becoming?  And as it should be in high school, no alarm clocks, lots more unstructured time, plus Open Mike Night and Dance Night with the always rockin’ live band!  More than a mountain top experience, Ponderosa Lodge is a week full of laughter, play, community and worship as students experience life to the fullest.  At camp, students can skate, surf, play laser tag or paintball, make new friends, swim, kayak, ride mountain bikes or mountain scooters and experience the zip line or leap of faith.  This is one party that will live on for eternity!  http://www.mounthermon.org/events#categories:19;upcoming:1;

Yosemite Sierra Summer Camp: Ages 8 to 16

Yosemite Sierra Summer CampThe Christian Adventure Camp affectionately known as “The Home of the World’s Greatest Campers!” at beautiful Bass Lake, in the shadow of Yosemite National Park.  YSSC’s two-week long sessions allow more time for campers to feel at home and benefit from the goal of helping them grow in character, relationships, skills and faith. This is accomplished through a unique blend of traditional and adventure activities, creative fun and positive challenge, and through interaction with a gifted, nurturing and enthusiastic staff with a staff-to-camper ratio of 1-to-2.  At YSSC, we believe summer camp is a magical and memorable time of new friends, discoveries and growth.

Hume Lake: Ages 8 to 18

Hume LakeThis is the awesome spot where our junior and senior high students spend an incredible weekend every winter.  Summer camp here is epic!  Camping is all about escaping from the distractions of technology, experiencing the simple joys of nature and spending quality time with great friends.  Getting away allows kids to take stock of their situation, see things from a new perspective and re-engage life with the right attitude.  Christian camping at Hume Lake takes advantage of all these benefits in order to encourage youth to focus on the most important relationship in their life—the one with their Creator.  We teach the gospel while giving young people an unforgettable camping experience!

Forest Home: Grades 3 thru 12

Forest Home If you spend time in SoCal during the summer, check out Forest Home.  Located on 600+ acres in the San Bernardino Mountains, Forest Home’s remoteness displaces campers far enough from their routine that they can hear God better, see Him clearer, and breathe deeper.  At Forest Home, campers can silence the distractions of life and realize the value of remoteness, so they can find true rest in Him.

Olympic rings and sunburstRacing in Rio: An Olympic Adventure with God! From June 20-24, 2016, we had 364 kids join us for the adventure of a lifetime at MVPC each day from 9am to Noon for Racing in Rio 2016 Vacation Bible School. They learned that God wants us to be on His team where we can cheer each other on and be strengthened to follow His instructions. They learned that God helps us through tough problems, and on His team we can celebrate the good things God gives us. Our mission project this year was collecting kids’ backpacks for Kid’s Alive International in the Dominican Republic, and we received over 150! Don’t miss the VBS reunion coming this fall! Camp Timberwolf

Family Camp
Camp TimberwolfFor a week every summer, MVPC’s very own Camp Timberwolf at Lower Bucks Lake in Plumas County in the Sierra Nevada is made available to our congregation for Family Camp.  This year, it was July 2-5, 2016.  The camp is surrounded by tall pine trees and is 150 yards from a sandy beach.  Bring and cook your own food in the fully equipped kitchen, with available refrigerator, freezer, and BBQ.  The mess hall has a large deck, plus picnic tables under the pine canopy, a camp fire pit, and a horseshoe pit.  There are three cabins with bunks (by reservation) and numerous tent sites, as well as water hookup for RVs.  With activities like fishing, hiking, canoeing, playing at the lake, and evening campfires, Family Camp is a great week to spend time together in fellowship with members of our congregation and to grow closer as a family, too, while enjoying the beauty of God’s splendor.  Cost is $12/night for adults; $6/night for kids 6 and older, and free for younger kids.
