Promiseland: 2 Years – Kindergarten
Beginning Sunday, January 8th, we will have just one service at 9:30am. For parents who would like to attend one of our adult education classes before or after the service, children’s programs will also be provided during those times as well.
Sundays at 9:30am
Preschoolers have a natural sense of curiosity and wonder, making this the perfect time to begin teaching about God and His creation. Our curriculum, First Look, teaches preschoolers clearly and concisely about the God who made them and loves them, giving them the building blocks of their faith. Each age group has a team of two teachers and two or three student assistants that help each week with activities, games and music for the children.
Children are placed in age-appropriate classrooms based on their age as of September 1st of each year. They are promoted to the next level each September. Promiseland classes are held in the following classrooms on the upper level of our church campus. See our campus map.
- 2 year olds: Room 111
- 3 year olds: Room 112
- Pre-K/TK: Room 113
- Kindergarten: Room 115
- Music/Worship: Room 112
Our curriculum, called First Look, introduces preschoolers to the wonder of God and His love for them. First Look gives us three foundational building blocks in the form of basic truths that anchor the entire curriculum: God made me; God loves me; and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
New this year is our electronic check-in system, which is located on the upper level in front of the gates to the classrooms. Our Ministry Assistant, along with a volunteer, will greet parents and get necessary information (name, address, DOB, cell phone number, health concerns/allergies, etc.). A name tag will be printed out and placed on your child and you will be directed to your child’s classroom.
A teacher will greet you and your child at the door when you enter the room. Parents must register the child on a classroom sign-in sheet.
If your child is having a difficult morning, we will text you. (We are no longer using pagers in preschool classes.) The safety and security of all children is top priority with us!
Parents must return to the child’s classroom for check-out. A sign-out sheet will be there for you to initial before you take your child from class. If the group is not back from music/worship, please wait for them at their classroom. Removing a child from music/worship could upset other children in the process.
Registration is done during the electronic check-in. Registration for all children is to be completed in the fall each year. If you are a visitor, you will be asked to check-in as a Guest in our system.
