Enjoy some of the best fly fishing in the world as we spend a week fishing the Henry’s Fork, the Snake River and the Teton River. These world-class fisheries will provide participants with excellent opportunities to catch lots of big fish!
“The Henry’s Fork of the Snake River, known by locals simply as the “Hank,” is arguably the most famous river in Idaho. The river’s legendary fishing for large rainbow and brown trout draws anglers from far and wide, and the river truly does live up to its reputation. Located in Eastern Idaho, just a few hours west of the Tetons in Wyoming, the Henry’s Fork offers a lot more than just a picturesque landscape – the Henry’s Fork is a heaven on Earth if you like catching big fish.” (https://www.bestfishinginamerica.com/idaho-henrys-fork-river-fishing.html)
“Located halfway between the South Fork and Henry’s Fork, the Teton is an undiscovered gem often ignored by anglers heading to the more popular fisheries. On good days, the Teton River greatly outshines both of its stellar sister rivers by providing exceptional dry fly fishing.” (https://worldcastanglers.com/fishing-reports-teton-river)
“With a healthy population of cutthroat, brown and rainbow trout ranging from 15-25 inches, the South Fork is a fly fisher’s dream… Rated as the top cutthroat stream in the West, the South Fork of the Snake River is the product of more than a decade of special efforts by Idaho Fish and Game, local outfitters, and catch and release ethics. Its development into a first class fishery is proof of the effectiveness of special regulations to protect this beautiful, native trout of the Northern Rockies.” (https://worldcastanglers.com/south-fork-of-the-snake-river-fly-fishing/)
Cost for the week is $1200 and includes lodging, food and rental car while in Idaho. This breaks down to just over $170/day! (For comparison, Henry’s Fork Lodge costs $880 per person/day)
We have rented a very large Airbnb house in Rexburg, ID, located about 20 minutes north of Idaho Falls. Each person will have their own bed and the home has a large kitchen, living room and a pool table (see images of house rental here.) Breakfast and dinner will be cooked each day while food will be made available for sack lunches to be taken with folks as they go to fish.
Each participant is responsible to provide their own equipment (MVPC has some loaner equipment available on a first come basis) and to secure your own guides and boats, should you wish to use them. Guides average $400 per day for 2 people per boat and suggestions can be made for where to book guides should you need help. Participants also need to secure their own transportation to Idaho Falls, but we will have a couple of rental vehicles while in Rexburg. We may try to coordinate a carpool from Moraga but cheap flights can be found as well.
